Wycombe Wanderers are delighted to announce a new eSports partnership with Rival that will allow the club to build a new gaming community.
The Wycombe eSports Arena will provide a platform for gaming fans all around the world to compete against each other and be in with the chance of winning various prizes. Compatible with both Xbox and Playstation, the first tournament will be held on Sunday January 10th and each winner will receive a signed Adebayo Akinfenwa shirt. As part of the growing WorldWide Phenomenon, the platform will bring fans from all around the world closer to the action than ever before, with future activity to include tournaments between international fan groups, collaborations with ‘other Wanderers’ and ventures into new games such as Madden and Rocket League.
Chief Commercial Officer Neil Peters said: “This is yet another new step for the club and our great support. We have added many new platforms in the last nine months which give fans enjoyment but also widens our net across the world.
"The team's clear appeal on FIFA has provided insight into where our wider fans come from and with Harry, our Global Marketing Executive, engaging with our widening geographical fan base, his work with Rival now allows fans, both local and across the globe, to engage, share and compete with each other”.
“We are thrilled to partner with Wycombe in launching their new gaming community,” said Rival Chief Marketing Officer, Dan Parise. “This initiative demonstrates the organization’s progressive approach to fan engagement, and we look forward to providing this platform for their fanbase.”
Rival provides a first-of-its-kind platform that opens up the thrilling world of gaming to a global audience. Suitable for gamers of all ability, their innovative technology will enable the club to build a gaming community that enhances their connection to the club and offers reward points redeemable to use in the online store.
We look forward to seeing this partnership grow and to welcoming fans from all corners of the globe to compete in the Wycombe eSports Arena.
