Gerwyn Price created history at the weekend as he became the first Welshman to ever win the PDC World Championship with a fantastic 7-3 win over two-time champions Gary Anderson in the final at Alexandra Palace.
Speaking after the match, which was held at the Alexandra Palace in London, Price said: “This means everything to me. It means the world.”
Despite finding himself two legs down, Price hit back to win the first set.
Anderson levelled with the second set, but Price averaged 136.64 in the sixth set in an astounding series of darts with 11, 12 and 10 darts seeing him go into a 5-1 lead - needing just two more sets to win the match.
Anderson, who was competing in his fifth World Championship final, pulled one back by winning the seventh set, before Price won the following set to move within one set of victory.
